North Forsyth kept Peachtree Ridge out of the end zone most of the night. Unfortunately, the Lions defense was even better.

The visiting Lions settled for field goals on four possessions and added a touchdown in the final two minutes, while frustrating the Raider attack all night in a 33-0 win.

"We played really good red zone defense all night, and that's a credit to our kids playing every down and not giving up once they moved the football down inside the 20," North head coach Jared Zito said.

Tyler Slaton was the Raiders' leading ball carrier with 78 yards of offense.

The game was North's first loss in nearly 11 months. The Raiders had won five straight dating back to last season.

North (3-1, 1-1) looks to rebound Friday with a trip to Collins Hill, which is 4-0 after topping Northview 51-10 on Friday.

* Chattahoochee 45, South Forsyth 22

South Forsyth tried to give its fans something to cheer about on homecoming, but it was the Chattahoochee offense that put on a show in the 45-22 victory.

The War Eagles remain winless on the season, and have dropped seven in a row dating back to last season.

“It is tough," said South head coach Wendall Early. "We have played some good football teams."

Although South’s offense struggled, the 22 points marked a season high. Running back Brett Charron scored two touchdowns, including a 60-yard catch and run to make 24-14 in the third quarter.

Charron had four receptions for 78 yards and rushed 13 times for 89 yards and one touchdown.

South (0-4, 0-2) will try to turn things around Friday at Northview.


* Creekview 28, West Forsyth 14

BALL GROUND — Tyler Lott's late heroics looked like the start of a rally, but it never materialized for West Forsyth.

Lott received returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter, but No. 10-ranked Creekview held on for a 28-14 victory.

“Tonight we had some plays go against us, but we fought back and it was awesome to see our guys try to climb back in to it,” said West head coach Frank Hepler. “We just didn’t have enough there at the end.”

Ben Emert paced the Wolverines offense, carrying the ball 17 times for 55 yards and a first quarter touchdown that gave West an early lead.

Next up for the Wolverines (2-2, 1-1) is a visit Friday from East Hall.



* Pinecrest 21, Piedmont 7 

Pinecrest presented too many matchup problems for Piedmont in a 21-7 victory over the Cougars on Senior Night.

Joe Neiner caught two touchdown passes and Michael Cassandra ran for a score and more than 100 yards as the Paladins extended their winning streak to four games.

"Our special teams was one of the main reasons we won the football game," said Pinecrest head coach Charles Wiggins.

Pinecrest (4-1) begins a four-game road swing Friday at Dawson Street.
